LCCI Extraordinary Meeting

Following a period of nominations, we’re very pleased that 7 nominees are standing in the by-election to join the LCCI Board of Directors. Below you can read more about them, their skills and why they’re standing for election.

There are 6 positions available on the Board at this by-election.

All candidates are full and financial members of the Lismore Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Name: Dr Chika Anyanwu

Why do you want to join the Board of the Lismore Chamber?

I want to use my experience and expertise to support our local economy through strategic engagements and partnerships. I am very comfortable with complexity and skilled at engaging with diverse stakeholders and community groups

 

Name: Michael Haydon

Occupation: Director, 24 Hour Solar Power

Why do you want to join the Board of the Lismore Chamber?

It may sound funny to some, but after my recent injury I was shocked to see the support I received from the community and I am very motivated to be more involved in how our community and businesses can thrive together

Because the board needs new members and fresh approaches.

Why do you want to join the Board of the Lismore Chamber?

I am keen to use earlier board experience and build on existing relationships to support and grow the local business community. To find ways to encourage everyone to shop and buy local (after all everything is here), encourage jobs growth, encourage businesses to support each other (special networking groups, mentoring). Keen to establish a youth chamber and also find ways to make Lismore so appealing people want to come here, stay here (especially young people), start a business here, and spark some enthusiasm for all Lismore (not just the CBD) businesses!

Why do you want to join the Board of the Lismore Chamber?

I have a passion for small business and want to make a difference in our town, main focus being on the local CBD – finding a way to make it shine again and bring more people to the town centre, be it for shopping, food, entertainment or professional services. I have really enjoyed sitting on the interim board of LCCI for the past 4 months and would like to continue the work we have begun.

Voting will occur at the Extraordinary meeting on Wednesday 13th February by secret ballot. All full and financial members will receive one voting privilege where you will allocate your six preferences.
