A couple of months ago, we entered the Business NSW Regional Business Awards for a few reasons, one of which is that it’s a great opportunity to reflect on what we’ve been doing during the previous 12 months. We have all been so focussed on flood recovery, not to mention COVID recovery, that it was good to stop for a minute and reflect.

We entered the Outstanding Chamber of Commerce category which recognises the achievements of a Local Chamber of Commerce in supporting its members to maximise their business potential. The awards were presented on 22 October at the Whitebrook Theatre at Southern Cross University. It was certainly a gala presentation – red carpet, delicious food, great entertainment and the opportunity to catch up with businesses across the whole region … and a sudden thud back to reality the next day as that was the weekend we were under threat of flood for the 4th time this year.

Our congratulations go to all finalists and winners across the region, and especially our local stars.. You can see the full list here (businessnsw.com/members/business-awards/northern-rivers).

We now move forward to the State awards to be presented in Sydney on 18 November. There are 11 regions across the state (businessnsw.com/members/business-awards/) and we are up against so many worthy competitors!
