It’s been a whirlwind end to the year – why does it always sneak up on us?! COVID has unfortunately hampered Ellen’s activities over the last 2 weeks but there is still time for a little bit of Christmas shopping, carolling and cheer.

At the end of November, we held our mini business expo in the Strand Arcade. Whilst small, it was certainly worthwhile and we will definitely do another in a few months, and plan to do something much bigger next Christmas which we hope will include our winter wonderland in Carrington Street, along with a larger business expo and market.

Our AGM on 7 December was well attended and it was pleasing to have interest from members in joining the Board. If you are a member and would like a copy of our Annual Report and Financial Statements, please send us an email. Our Board for 2023 comprises, and whilst we have not had the opportunity to elect our Executive team, the current arrangements will stay in place until our first Board meeting:

We will hold our first Board meeting in January, and continue with our regular schedule of the 3rd Wednesday each month. We’ll be publishing a brief profile of each of our board members soon.

The Chamber office will be closed during January. Our first function for 2023 will be February Business After Hours, hosted by TAFE.
