The old post office building on the corner of Molesworth and Magellan streets is one of Lismore’s finest and most iconic buildings.
It was built 126 years ago in 1897 by the Sanbrook Bros, based on the designs by government architect WL Vernon.
A recreation of the building will this year feature in Lismore’s Lantern Parade, and while decidely smaller, it is equally impressive.
Constructed by architect designer Martin Fox, the lantern was commissioned by the Lismore Chamber of Commerce to carry in the parade.
