At our May meeting, Secretary Art Beavis resigned from the Board as he is intending to retire, and as a result, close his business.
Art has been a valued Chamber and Board member for many years. President Ellen Kronen said that his contribution has been invaluable, but particularly in the wake of the February and March 2022 floods when he supported us so well and ensured operations continued in as normal a way as possible considering the circumstances. In the past 12 months he has taken the lead in ensuring our compliance and all those behind the scenes ‘running the organisation’ activities have been done, updated, and maintained. We couldn’t have done it without him. His input will be missed, and we wish him well with future endeavours (aka retirement!).
This of course leaves a vacant seat to be filled as a casual vacancy until the AGM in December and we ask that anyone interested get in contact. We have an information pack that has all the relevant information which can be emailed to you. In a nutshell, you would need to have been a Business Lismore member for at least a year, and have had some interaction with us during that time.
